Fae Ellington

Fae Ellington has parallel careers in theatre and broadcasting. She joined the broadcasting fraternity in 1974 working at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation in Radio and Television. In 1977 she was trained at the British Broadcasting Corporation. She has been a part-time lecturer at CARIMAC since 1985. Ellington is also a communication consultant for private companies and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the University of the West Indies.

Radio Announcing and Presentation

This course relies heavily on the reading of scripts and radio copy for announcing and microphone presentation. There will also be some written assignments. Each participant should bring a portable tape recorder with either a good built-in condenser microphone or an external microphone. (No micro-cassette recorders.) Each participant must submit a 30-second audio cassette or CD stating name and country and the reason for taking the course. This cassette/CD/file should reach CARIMAC by the May 3, 2010. Audio files in mp3 format can also be emailed. You must be a confident speaker of the English Language.
